Appeals and Complaints

Al-Turath Medical Journal (ATMJ) is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and integrity throughout the publication process.

The journal has established a clear and structured procedure for handling appeals and complaints from authors, reviewers, and readers.

1. Appeals Against Editorial Decisions: Authors who believe that an editorial decision (manuscript rejection, e.g.) was made in error or unfairly may submit a formal appeal. The appeal must be sent in writing to the editorial office via [email protected] and should include:

- A detailed justification for the appeal.

- A point-by-point response to the editor’s and reviewers’ comments.

-Any new evidence or clarifications supporting the appeal.

All appeals are reviewed objectively by the editorial team and, when necessary, by independent editorial board members or additional expert reviewers not involved in the original decision. The Editor-in-Chief’s decision on appeals is final.

2. Complaints About the Editorial Process: Complaints regarding the editorial handling of a manuscript, delays in communication, or reviewer conduct should be directed to the Editor-in-Chief at [email protected]. All complaints will be handled confidentially and with due diligence, following ethical best practices.

3. Ethical Complaints: Any concerns related to research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, or authorship disputes, should be reported to the editorial office. which are accessible at https://publicationethics.org. The journal will investigate all allegations thoroughly and take appropriate actions, such as issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

4. Complaints from Readers: Readers who identify potential errors, ethical issues, or scientific inaccuracies in published content are encouraged to contact the journal at [email protected]. The editorial team will review the concern, and if necessary, take corrective measures to preserve the scientific integrity of the journal.
